Mustafa Jemilev, Commissioner of the Ukrainian President on Crimean Tatar Affairs, believes that the “Crimea. Resistance” documentary is one of the steps for returning Crimea," Mustafa Jemilev posted on his Facebook page.

“Whether the film will help to return Crimea? This is one of the steps. I think that our way of returning Crimea consists of such steps,” Jemilev said.

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people emphasized the importance of creating a strategy for returning Crimea to Ukraine.

“I think this is a wrong thinking: 'We must first release Donbas and Luhansk, and then Crimea.' I do not take in such a priority,” said the Commissioner of Ukrainian President.

Mustafa Jemilev also named those public authorities that have to undertake the development of the Strategy.

“We have the National Security Council, the President's Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers. The Ministry for the Occupied Territories has been established as well. We will offer our proposals,” he said.

"Crimea. Resistance" documentary (author of the idea and script writer - Emine Dzhepparova) was presented in Ukraina cinema, Kyiv, on July 12.

The documentary was created as a “Chronicle of occupation of Crimea witnessed by a passerby." The story is narrated by the American researcher James Austin Charon, who came to Crimea to study the ethnic groups of the multinational peninsula. In February and March 2014, he witnessed the invasion of the peninsula by "unnamed" Russian forces and illegal "referendum" on secession of Crimea. The protagonist of the movie says that the Kremlin revenges today Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars for their civil resistance, which has not allowed Russia to show the world the full support of the occupation.

Just a reminder: President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukrainian people owe the national-territorial autonomy to the Crimean Tatars at the presentation of “Crimea. Resistance” documentary. According to Poroshenko, the two most tragic dates in the history of the Crimean Tatar people - May 18, 1944 and the February 2014 – are associated with the only organizer - the Kremlin.
