US and EU positions on maintaining sanctions against Russia are unified, US President Barack Obama said in Warsaw on Friday, July 8, on the eve of the NATO Summit, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“The EU and the United States are united in determination to maintain sanctions against Russia until it fully implements its obligations under the Minsk Agreements,” he stressed.

Obama also said that he is ready to continue supporting Ukraine, which "implements important political and economic reforms."

It was reported earlier that during his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine and the United States would team up in order to liberate Crimea from Russia’s occupation.
