The Verkhovna Rada has begun the consideration of bills required for visa-free regime.

Speaking to MPs, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine, told about steps Ukraine has already made towards the introduction of visa-free regime with the EU, the QHA correspondent reports.

According to Prime Minister, over 660,000 biometric passports have already been issued in Ukraine. Furthermore, the Ukraine has joined the Interpol system. A number of anti-corruption laws have been adopted and national anti-corruption agency established.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that a number of laws should be adopted in order to get the visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, using biometric passports.

“The problem of refugees in Europe and Russian military actions in Syria may result in refusal of some EU Member States to provide visa-free regime for Ukraine. Therefore, we have to adopt the bills for Ukrainians to join the European Union," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
