While on a working visit to Donetsk region, President Petro Poroshenko visited the Control Center in the zone of the antiterrorist operation. The Supreme Commander of the Ukraine’s Armed Forces held a meeting with the leadership of the ATO headquarters and was reported on the operational situation at the front.

The President has appointed Sergey Popko, Head of the ATO in Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine, as the Commander of the Land Forces and introduced him to the Administrative Board of the ATO Control Center.

Poroshenko stressed it is important to be vigilant and use every moment for strengthening our borders, improving the combat skills and training the military personnel, as well as accumulate the necessary reserves for guaranteed resistance to any enemy’s actions, according to a statement on the Presidential website.
