Ahmet Davutoglu, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Turkish Justice and Development Party (AKP), rejected the formation of the 63rd government under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Closed audience, held at the presidential complex, lasted 1.25 hours.

According to the presidential address, dated July 9, 2015 Chairman of the AKP, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was charged to form Council of Ministers, but in spite of all the efforts to form a government able to get a vote of confidence, Mr Davuoglu refused to carry out this task and announced Mr. President his inability to execute it. The President thanked Davutoglu for his efforts.
