Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov said that Ukraine should not recognize the results of elections in Russia. He made a corresponding statement on the air of Channel 5, where, together with the news agency QHA (Crimean News), Radio Hayat and Krym.Realii, a marathon titled "4 Years of Resistance" is held today.
According to him, other countries should follow Kyiv in this matter.
"I urge not only not to recognize the holding of elections in the annexed Crimea, but also the presidential elections in Russia as a whole," he said.
At the same time, Ilmi Umerov warned that after the elections the repressions in the Crimea will be even more brutal.
“If previously there were grounds for Putin to be cautious, then after elections this will not happen. Repression in the Crimea, as a means of distracting people from social problems, promises they gave to the Crimeans at the time of annexation, will continue," he said.
Umerov also noted that the Crimean Tatar people, who remain loyal to Ukraine, do not recognize the alternative bodies created by the invaders.
It worth noting, that on February 26, on the Day of the Resistance of the Crimea to the Russian occupation, the news agency QHA ("Crimean News") and Radio Hayat together with "Channel 5" and "Crimea.Realii" are holding a marathon called "4 Years of Resistance".
Within the framework of the marathon, a live broadcast of the rally on the Independence Square in Kyiv is planned, which is organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and a number of public and human rights organizations. This is an event of solidarity in support of those Ukrainian citizens who live in the conditions of Russian occupation in the Crimea.
Reference: On this day in 2014, outside the building of the Supreme Council of Crimea, a rally was held to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine and prevent the adoption of decisions aimed at destabilizing the situation in the autonomy by the parliament of the ARC.
About 15 thousand Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and Crimea residents of other nationalities took part in the rally, organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. It was on February 26 that the civil society of Crimea advocated the territorial integrity of Ukraine, not allowing Russia and its agents in the Crimea to hold an extraordinary session of the parliament in order to simulate the allegedly voluntary "transfer" of Crimea to Russia. Therefore, this day is rightfully considered the Day of Resistance to the Russian occupation in the Crimea
