Another Crimean Tatar, Edem Osmanov, 34, has been detained in Crimea. He was charged with assaulting police in connection with clashes between police and Crimean Tatars in May.

Edem Osmanov, who is not the first one to be detained for May events, was taken by 5 masked men at the patrol station.

The clashes occurred May 3 at Crimea’s northern city of Armyansk, when thousands of Crimean Tatars met their national leader Mustafa Jemilev , who had been prevented by authorities from entering Crimea on May 3.

Crimean authorities had banned Jemilev from entering Crimea for five years, accusing him of “extremist activity”.
