The Russian invaders in the Crimea are trying to erase the historical memory of the Crimean Tatar people, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Refat Chubarov stated at the meeting of the General Assembly of the countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).

According to Chubarov, under the pretext of restoration work in the Khan Palace in Bakhchysarai, the occupiers replaced wooden items bearing historical value. The same applies to tiles.

“All these interventions are the conscious destruction of the Crimean Tatar monuments. The aim of the occupiers is to erase the historical memory of the Crimean Tatars," Chubarov said.

The Head of the Mejlis noted that in response the Russian side, which also took part in the work of the 51st PABSEC meeting, stated that Moscow allegedly "takes care of the culture of the Crimean Tatar people" in this way.

During the yesterday's meeting, a conflict occurred between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. Moscow once again accused Kyiv of "carrying out a coup," in response, the Ukrainian side dispelled the propaganda myths of the Russian Federation.

QHA reported that on June 20, the 51st meeting of parliamentarians of the PABSEC countries took place in the city of Tirana.
