The Ukrainian Parliament decided to remind on the fact that Crimea has been occupied for more than a thousand days. On Thursday, MPs and ambassadors held Day of Crimea in the Verkhovna Rada building. Crimean Tatar dishes and live music delighted the guests in the corridors of the Parliament.

Ambassadors of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and other countries arrived to express solidarity with the Crimean Tatars. The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy made a statement during the evening.

“We will not allow anyone to trade the Crimean issue. No negotiations, agreements or manifestos. And soon the day will come when we expel the invaders from the Crimea and the other occupied territories,” the speaker said.

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk attended the gala evening as well. He omitted touching speeches, but was actively engaged in dialogue with the other guests.

The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov called not to forget those who remained in the annexed territory, promising to liberate the Crimea.

“The fact that today we come together and what we do, is to set a certain algorithm of returning the Crimea to Ukraine. I am sure that soon we will consider the necessary changes to the Constitution of Ukraine in the Parliament Hall,” Chubarov said during the opening of the event.

Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko and his first Deputy Natalia Sevostyanova were present at the event as well.

On the third floor of the Parliament, guests were treated at the reception with the Crimean Tatar cuisine dishes and a concert dedicated to the anniversary of the occupation of the Crimea. Marinita, Jan Duet, Pushkin Klezmer band and Alie Hadzhabadinova performed live Crimean Tatar national music.

The guests expressed their hope for further support of Crimea and non-recognition of the annexation by the world community.
