On May 12, in Bakhchisaray, a prayer (dua) was held, dedicated to the anniversary of the Bakhchysarai Four arrest on the "Hizb ut-Tahrir case", Crimea. Reality reported.

After the Friday prayer in the local mosque, about 200 people gathered for the Dua, including relatives and friends of detainees, as well as local activists. The Dua was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov, against whom exactly a year ago a criminal case was initiated.

The prayer, timed to this date, began at 17:00 in the courtyard of Ilmi Umerov's house.

Earlier, on May 8 the Deputy Head of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov called on Crimean Muslims to turn to Allah with a request to give strength and endurance to all those who were repressed in the Crimea.

Reference: On May 12, 2016, the FSB in the Crimea initiated a criminal case against the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov under Art. 280.1 for allegedly calling on the air of the ATR to actions that threaten the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation. Umerov stated that his words in the program had been interpreted incorrectly.

Umerov was issued a travel ban. To undergo a psychiatric examination Umerov was forcibly placed in a psychiatric hospital, where he experienced serious health problems. September 7, Russian occupants released Umerov from a psychiatric hospital, but later several times summoned him for questioning.
The human rights organization Human Rights Watch compared the repression against Umerov with punitive psychiatry of Soviet times.
