In the area of the Joint Forces Operation on the Mariupol-Sartana highway, Ukrainian border guards discovered a mine of Russian origin, according to the report of the State Border Service of May 21.

“Employees of operational units of the Donetsk-Luhansk regional department of the State Border Service, which operate as part of the Joined Forces, received information about possible presence of an explosive device on the Mariupol-Sartana highway. The information was confirmed, because in a secluded place a mine was discovered - preliminary it is MON-50 (an antipersonnel mine of Russian origin - in the explosion of a given mine a person or several at the same time can be inflicted with ready-made killer elements flying up to 50 meters in the direction of the enemy)”, the message says.

The press service suggested that it was specially placed to defeat Ukrainian civilians and military.

Earlier, the OSCE SMM in Ukraine noted a sharp deterioration of the situation last week in the conflict zone in the Donbas, which led to an increase in the number of civilian casualties and the destruction of civilian objects.
