Nov 20, 2015 by the decision of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Community the veterans of the Crimean Tatar national movement Kashka Wedgie and Zampira Asanova were awarded the sign "For Service to the Crimean Tatar people."

Zampira Asanova was awarded posthumously with the award being handed over to her family. She died in Simferopol, January 16, 2014 after an extended illness. Most of her life the activist dedicated to the national movement.

Kashka Wedgie is currently living in Crimea surrounded by loving children and grandchildren. Wedgie is one of those who opened the Crimean Tatar people the way to their homeland.
