In the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine on November 11, a charitable action Helping hand was held, aiming to support children from families of Crimean political prisoners.
The action was the fourth in Kyiv. During the previous ones, the activists raised about 100 thousand hryvnia and transferred them to the Crimea.

In order to join the charity and help children, visitors could buy souvenir products with Crimean Tatar symbols, national dishes, ceramics, or take part in numerous master classes. Among them - a master class on pottery, drawing patterns of henna, patriotic weaving in the technique of "macrame" and many others.

“99 underage children were left without fathers, without breadwinners, so any help is important to them. And the funds that are raised here will be transferred to the Crimea. And huge thanks to the organizers of such events, because it is quite difficult to collect such a large amount every month to help children. The Bizim Balalar organization pays 5 thousand rubles each child each month. It has been running for months, and it's very hard, so any contribution is important," activist Ayshe Umerova said, as cited by QHA correspondent.

The event was attended by all those indifferent to the violation of human rights in the occupied Crimean peninsula, government officials, volunteers and legal officers.

"Our entire people there really need attention. And through such exhibitions we should highlight the tragic situation in which Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian citizens residing in the Crimea found themselves," said Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.

In turn, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov noted that the Mejlis and the Crimean Tatar public organizations would do everything possible to release the Ukrainian political prisoners and expel the Russian invaders from the Crimea.

"They call everyone who lends a helping hand to children as scoundrels and criminals. The invaders proceed from the assumption that everyone who thinks about their children should do everything in order not to go to jail. The invaders say - if you want to be near your children, you should become traitors, speak out against your people, your land and state ... We do and will continue doing everything to release every political prisoner, for them to be with their children, united with their families. And we will do everything in order to stop this source of constant crimes on the Crimean land. This source is the Russian occupation," the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said.

The organizers of the event were the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the Crimean Family organization, the Islamic Public Cultural Center, the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine, the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations Alraid, and the Office of the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Affairs of Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev.
