A missing Crimean Tatar student of the Medical University, Eldar Tefukov has been found alive and well in the waiting room of a bus station in the city of Simferopol on June 8, the sources told the QHA.
- Tefukov has been found alive and well in a waiting room of a bus station at 3. 50 a.m., told the sources.
Eldar Tefukov lives in Simferopol with his sister. As it was reported earlier, he left home on June 7 at 8.50 p.m. and had not got in touch for a long time.
Following Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, the human rights situation on the peninsula has deteriorated significantly. The persecution and repressions of the Crimean Tatars have intensified as searches of homes, arrests and abductions have become a norm.
A 30-year-old Erwin Ibragimov, a member of the Crimean Tatars World Congress and Bakhchisaray Regional Mejlis, was kidnapped on May, 24 at about 11.00 p.m. in the city of Bakhchisarai.
Later a video was put on the Internet captured by a surveillance camera of one of the stores owned by a Crimean Tatar businessman in Bakhchisarai. The video record shows how a few unidentified persons, presumably in the uniform of the Russian traffic police, were forcibly putting Erwin Ibragimov in a white minibus “Ford Transit”.
In turn, the "Investigative Committee of Crimea" asserts "the Crimean Tatars are not kidnapped on the peninsula."
