His Holiness Patriarch Filaret of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine awarded medals to Crimeans fighting in the ATO, Veldar Shukurdzhiev and Aleksandr Kravchenko.

The two fighters are currently on the front line.

The Ukrainian military received medals "For sacrifice and love to Ukraine."

The Patriarch also awarded the orders to the Director General of the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise The National Newspaper Magazine Publishers, Andrei Schekun and the Editor-in-chief of the Krimska Svitlitsya, Viktor Merzhvinsky. Presentation of awards was timed to the Day of Dignity and Freedom.

"I want to commend you for your achievements in reviving spirituality in Ukraine and an important role in the establishment of the Ukrainian Church in the Crimea," Filaret stressed.

Shchekun and Merzhvinsky personally received the orders of the Holy Prince Vladimir the Great of the third degree.

Previously, in the residence of the Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine on June 8, a ceremony of transferring medicines, medical equipment and essentials to the military hospitals of Mariupol, Volnovaha, Chasov Yar and Severodonetsk took place. Also a set of medicines was sent to the hospital in Belovodsk, where a large number of immigrants were treated.
