Russian lawyer Aleksander Popkov reported about flagrant violations at the court sessions on cases against Crimean Muslims in the occupied Crimea.

“Judge Kuznetsova forged a protocol in Emir-Usein Kuku case: she wrote down prosecutor remarks that were never said. I appealed to the higher authorities, but without any result. It is impossible to pursue the truth if crooks of several administrations including the court work against you”, Aleksander Popkov noted during the round table “Freedom of speech as a victim. Censorship as a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine” that was held in Kyiv on June 8.

Furthermore, Aleksander Popkov stated that politically motivated trials in the occupied Crimea are shut down under false pretences for Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians who came to support defendants.
