Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky said that he is "worried" about the hunger strike of the Ukrainian filmmaker and political prisoner Oleg Sentsov, but considers that "this is his own decision, position." The minister made a corresponding statement on June 12.

According to him, he is "not deep in this subject, but, of course, from the humanitarian point of view, such things are a tragedy". At the same time he pointed to the fact that this problem is not the sphere of action of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, he also declined to comment on the possibility of exchanging Sentsov for the editor-in-chief of Russian information agency RIA Novosti-Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky detained in Kyiv.

Earlier it was reported, that Oleg Sentsov was in a medical unit. The state of health of the Ukrainian is causing concern, but doctors are monitoring him closely.
