A decision by the Kyiv Employment Agency to strip a TV journalist Savik Shuster of his work permit in Ukraine has been suspended until the circumstances are clarified, the press service of the State Employment Service of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

The corresponding decision was taken after Shuster appealed to the Board of the Agency.

- Fulfilling an order №54, the Kyiv City Employment Agency acted exclusively within its powers and the legal field. At the same time, I want to stress that the Employment Service is not an old archaic structure. We are ready for reforms and always open to everyone. I have received an application by a citizen Shuster and in response to this document we will suspend the work ban until the circumstances are clarified. Thus, so far, a permission for employment of a Canadian citizen Shuster №43388 is valid, wrote Sergei Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Employment Agency.

April, 27 the Employment Agency in Kiev stripped the TV journalist Savik Shuster of his work permit. According to the Agency, he provided false information for the permit extension, in particular, this is about the criminal proceedings. Due to a ban, Shuster claimed he had gone on a hunger strike and would keep it until he is permitted to work in Ukraine.
