Fighters of the British Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon intercepted Russian aircraft over the Black Sea. This was reported in the press service of the Royal Air Force.

The fighters launched from the airfield in Romania.

The press service noted that the Russian military airplane AN-26 first approached the borders of NATO airspace, and later the anti-submarine Be-12.

British fighters had to escort Russian aircraft clear of the Romanian airspace.

The press service stressed that this is the third case in a week.

Earlier, on May 4, the British fighter Typhoon intercepted the Russian reconnaissance aircraft Il-20 over the Black Sea. The plane was flying near the NATO base.
