The ships of the NATO naval group №2 (SNMG2), as well as the ships of the permanent anti-mine naval group of NATO No. 2 (SNMCMG2), entered the port of Odesa, Ukraine, the press service of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) reported on Facebook.

Thus, the frigate De Ruyter of the Royal Navy of the Netherlands, the frigate Fatih of the Turkish Navy, the frigate Regele Ferdinand of the MF of Romania, the auxiliary vessel Rhein of the German Navy, the mine sweeper Anamur of the Turkish Navy, the minesweeper Lupu Dinescu of the MF of Romania entered the port.

The Sea Breeze-2018 exercise was launched in Odessa on July 9 with the participation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and military personnel of NATO countries. It was planned to take place in Odesa, Mykolaiv regions and in the northwestern part of the Black Sea until July 21.

Speaking to the participants of the multinational international exercises Sea Breeze-2018, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the inspection and blocking by Russians of ships entering the Ukrainian ports in the Azov Sea may indicate their intentions to carry out military attacks on Mariupol. According to the Ukrainian Head of State, Russia had significantly strengthened the maritime grouping in the Azov Sea.
