No threat exists to Crimea from Ukraine, especially since the Crimea is a Ukrainian territory, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernobay stated.

According to him, Russia is manipulating information and consciousness, stating that there is an alleged threat from Ukraine to the inhabitants of the Crimea and uses this background to build up its armament in the annexed territory, in particular, with the S-400 missile systems.

“This is another attempt to manipulate information and consciousness. There is no threat to Crimea from Ukraine. Moreover, the Crimea is a Ukrainian territory, and its inhabitants are citizens of Ukraine. On the contrary, Russia is threatening the Crimea and the states of the Black Sea basin by expanding its inter-service armament," Chernobay said.

The Kremlin earlier stated that the deployment of new S-400 systems in the Russian-occupied Crimea should not be regarded as a threat.

QHA reported that the two divisions of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems will be used by Russian occupation troops in the occupied Crimea in the early days of 2018. Lieutenant-General of the country-invader Viktor Sevostyanov specified that the divisions are already in the territory of the temporarily occupied peninsula.

The long-range S-400 Triumf air-defense system was designed and manufactured by Almaz-Antei Concern. It is intended to defeat strategic and tactical aircraft, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets and other air assault weapons in electronic and other forms of counteraction.

The system is capable to reach aerodynamic targets at ranges up to 400 km, and ballistic targets flying at speeds up to 4.8 km / s at altitudes of several meters to several tens of kilometers at a range of up to 60 km.
