May 13, in the Turkish capital of Ankara a mournful rally will be held dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide against the Crimean Tatar people, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy of Ukraine Refat Chubarov reported on his page on Facebook.

"Allah yardımcı olsun!

On Sunday, May 13, 2018, a mournful rally dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people will be held in Ankara "

Secretary General of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Namik Kemal Bayar noted, that the city authorities of Ankara agreed on holding the rally.

Earlier, QHA reported that, in Ankara and Çorum festive events took place called "Krım Hıdırellez Şenliği" ("The Holiday of the Crimean Hıdırlez"), and in the town of Yalova the Association  of Culture and Mutual Aid of the Crimean Tatars organized the events on the traditional Crimean Tatar holiday Tepresh.

Previously, Refat Chubarov urged his compatriots on the annexed peninsula not to participate in the events, dedicated to the anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, organized by occupiers.

Reference: on May 18 - 20, 1944, the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR, by decision of the State Defense Committee, forcibly evicted the Crimean Tatars from the Crimea to Uzbekistan and the adjacent regions of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The Soviet authorities justified their criminal actions with a false assertion that during the Great Patriotic War the Crimean Tatars were siding with Nazi Germany.

In 1989, the deportation of the Crimean Tatars to the USSR was condemned and found illegal.

In November 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Independent Ukraine recognized the deportation of 1944 as genocide of the Crimean Tatar people.
