President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Ukrainian President congratulated the Turkish people on the coming ninety-third anniversary of the Republic of Turkey Proclamation.

President Poroshenko informed the Turkish leader on increase of the period of visa-free stay for Turkish citizens on the territory of Ukraine from 60 to 90 days during the 180-day period. Earlier the Turkish Government issued a similar decision in respect of the Ukrainian citizens. Poroshenko called it an important step in the development of interpersonal relations and economic ties between the two countries.

The two sides condemned the human rights violations in the occupied Crimea by Russia. President Erdogan reiterated non-recognition of the results of Russian parliamentary elections in the occupied peninsula, according to the website of the Head of Ukrainian state.

The sides agreed to step up negotiations on a free trade area, and discussed the procedure for further contacts at the highest level.
