DHL, international express delivery service company, headquartered in the German city of Bonn, on Thursday, November 9, reacted to the information about the company's activities on the Crimea, Russia-annexed Ukrainian peninsula.

Previously it was reported that the company continues to provide services through partner service points in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Kerch.

The local DHL Russian version corporate website contains the Background information about partnerships in three Crimean cities, but is not available in the Ukrainian version.

Answering to the enquiry of the QHA journalist the press office of the company officially explained that while maintaining its global postal and logistics network, it strictly adheres to trade legislation.

“Deutsche Post DHL conducts a specific policy regarding the types of services and the structures involved due to the complex political and legal situation that has developed around the Crimea,” DHL Ukraine explains. “Deutsche Post does not offer services for supplies to the Crimea at the moment. DHL Express operates in accordance with the valid legal provision, offering limited supply services in the Crimea. As an EU-based company with operating entities in over 220 countries and territories, DPDHL provides services in Crimea in compliance with EU, as well as relevant local laws and regulations,” reads the message.
