The OSCE SMM spotted artillery reconnaissance vehicle (PRP-4 Nard) in a compound north of Khrustalnyi (formerly Krasnyi Luch, 56km south-west of Luhansk), as well as MLRS (BM-21) near Novoamvrosiivske (56km east of Donetsk), according to the report of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

“About 1km north-west, at another compound, the same SMM mini-UAV spotted an artillery reconnaissance vehicle (PRP-4 Nard) and 775 ammunition crates (some of which were assessed as new), as well as 118 crates of MLRS (BM-21) rockets.”

In this area, SMM also spotted six multiple launch rocket systems Grad placed in violation of the Minsk accords, and a total of 18 towed howitzers (eight 2A36 Giatsint-B, 152mm and ten 2A65 Msta-B, 152mm) in the compound north of Khrustalnyi outside designated storage sites.

Earlier, SMM also informed on Russian electronic warfare complexes that were discovered at the end of July near the village of Chornukhyne in the occupied Luhansk region, and a few days later disappeared from that place.

“In non-government-controlled areas, on 28 July, an SMM mini-UAV spotted four distinct electronic warfare systems (a Leer-3 RB-341V, a 1L269 Krasukha-2 and RB-109A Bylina, and an anti-UAV system, Repellent-1) near Chornukhyne (64km south-west of Luhansk), all seen for the first time by the SMM. On 2 August, during a flight over the same area, the UAV did not spot the same systems.”

The "Nard" is not the first Russian reconnaissance armament that was spotted in the occupied Donbas. During June-July of this year SMM five times recorded the modern Russian reconnaissance complex "Thorn" in the occupied Donetsk region, in particular, three times near Debaltseve.

Experts of the Center for Army Studies, Conversion and Disarmament consider the presence of the "Thorn" as evidence of the presence in Donbass of not only the latest Russian weapons, but also the personnel of the Russian military, who provide control of complex modern equipment.
